What will you do?

You will work daily on manoeuvring, securing, loading, transporting and unloading ship waste in the Port of Rotterdam. This involves liquid waste handled by Hydrovac vessels or solid waste handled by Clean Seas vessels that serve seagoing ships. You work a week on week off schedule and you stay in contact with planners and fellow skippers of other collection vessels. On board you work independently. You ensure the proper functioning of the vessel, installations and equipment and you carry out maintenance or arrange repairs when needed. You are also responsible for keeping the onboard waste administration up to date.

What you bring

  • Large Navigation Licence 1, Radar Certificate, ADN and VHF Certificate
  • Basic knowledge of nautical English
  • An independent work attitude and a sense of responsibility
